Each column comes from the brand’s official size guide, checked in October 2026, for its best-selling road bike: the Canyon Ultimate, Specialized Tarmac, Trek Domane, Giant TCR, Bianchi Specialissima, Orbea Orca and Scott Addict RC; for Decathlon, its single road bike guide. Where a brand gives two sizes for your height (because its ranges touch or overlap), both are shown. A dash means the brand doesn’t recommend any size of that model for that height. Most brands publish centimeters, so we matched each height to the brand’s chart using its centimeter value, shown in the first column.

Reference models: Canyon Ultimate (same as the Aeroad), Specialized Tarmac (same as the Roubaix and Aethos), 5th-generation Trek Domane SL (same as the Madone), Giant TCR, Bianchi Specialissima (same as the Oltre), Orbea Orca (same as the Orca Aero and Avant), Scott Addict RC (same as the Addict, Foil RC and Speedster) and Decathlon’s road bike guide, which covers Van Rysel and Triban. Scott doesn’t publish figures, just a bar chart, so its ranges carry a margin of about 1 cm.
How to read the chart
- It’s the size for one specific model. Within the same brand, the endurance or gravel bike can have different ranges: at Canyon, the Endurace switches to a medium at 178 cm (5 ft 10 in) and goes up to 185 cm; at Bianchi, the Infinito uses the 61 from 191 cm (6 ft 3 in). Each brand’s chart has the details.
- Letters can’t be compared across brands. A Canyon medium is for 5 ft 10 in to 6 ft (178-184 cm); a Trek medium, for 5 ft 4 in to 5 ft 8 in (162-173 cm); a Giant medium, for 5 ft 7 in to 5 ft 11 in (171-181 cm). Go by your height, not the letter.
- If your legs are long or short for your height, your size can change. Trek and Bianchi publish the recommended inseam; check it in their charts.
- Some brands are missing, like Cube, Cannondale, BH or Merida: we couldn’t verify their official guides reliably and would rather not publish secondhand numbers.
If your height isn’t listed or you get two sizes
If you’re, say, 5 ft 8½ in, check the 5 ft 8 in and 5 ft 9 in rows: if they match, that’s your size; if not, you’re on the edge. To decide, measure your inseam as described in how to find your bike size and work out a starting size with the bike size calculator. Then compare the stack and reach of the two candidate sizes, or your current bike, in the bike geometry comparison. If you don’t know yet which type of bike suits you, the bike size chart by height gives the generic size for road, mountain and gravel bikes.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I get a different size in every brand at the same height?
Because each brand names its sizes its own way (letters, numbers or both) and sets the cutoffs in different places. At 5 ft 11 in (180 cm) you're a medium in Canyon, a 56 or 58 in Specialized, a large in Trek, an M or ML in Giant, a 57 in Bianchi, a 55 in Orbea, a large in Scott and a medium in Decathlon.
What if a brand gives me two sizes?
Compare the reach and stack of the two sizes: with long arms and torso or a race position, the larger one; if you want comfort or you're not very flexible, the smaller one. Each brand chart explains how to decide with its numbers.
Can I use my size in one brand to buy another?
Only as a hint. A 54 or a medium doesn't measure the same in every brand: compare the stack and reach of your current bike with the new one in the geometry comparison tool.
