Decathlon Bike Size Chart by Height

Decathlon, the French sporting goods chain, sells its bikes mostly in Europe. It doesn’t publish a chart per model, but one size guide per type of bike that covers its in-house brands: Van Rysel (high-end road and gravel), Triban (entry-level road and gravel) and Rockrider (mountain). These are the figures from that guide (checked in October 2026), cross-checked with the ones Decathlon publishes in other countries for specific models, as collected by the Bike Insights database. Some Decathlon sites write the same cutoffs with a shared boundary (166-173 cm instead of 167-173 cm); the size you get is the same. Decathlon works in centimeters; we converted them to feet and inches, rounded to the nearest inch.

Decathlon road and gravel bike sizes: Van Rysel and Triban

Road bikes (Van Rysel RCR and EDR, Triban RC) and gravel bikes (Van Rysel and Triban GRVL) use the same chart. The 2XS only exists on some race bikes, like the RCR.

Watch out for the large: it only covers 5 cm, about 2 inches. At 6 ft (182 cm) you’re barely a large, and at 6 ft 2 in (187 cm) you’re already an XL.

Decathlon mountain bike sizes: Rockrider

Hardtails and full-suspension bikes, from the Expl trail models to the Race and XC bikes. Decathlon’s product pages show the height next to each size.

Decathlon’s general guide also lists an XS for shorter riders, but it doesn’t appear on the product pages we checked and we couldn’t confirm it with a second source.

The letters don’t match across types of bike: on mountain bikes each size is for shorter riders.

If you’re between two sizes

On road bikes, if you want a comfortable position or you’re not very flexible, go smaller with the stem a little higher; if you like to ride stretched out, go larger.
On mountain bikes, the smaller size is easier to handle on twisty trails and the larger one more stable on descents and long rides.
The EDR and the Triban RC 120 show slightly different ranges from this chart on some Decathlon country sites. If you’re on the edge, check the guide on the product page you’re buying from, or try one in person first.

Frequently asked questions

What size Decathlon bike do I need if I'm 5'9"?

On road and gravel bikes (Van Rysel and Triban), a medium, which Decathlon lists for 174-181 cm (5 ft 9 in to 5 ft 11 in). On mountain bikes (Rockrider), a large, for 175-184 cm (5 ft 9 in to 6 ft).

Why is my Decathlon road bike size different from my mountain bike size?

Because Decathlon uses separate charts for each type of bike: a medium road bike is for 174-181 cm and a medium Rockrider for 165-174 cm. At the same height, you'll usually be one letter bigger on a mountain bike.

Does the same chart work for every Van Rysel and Triban?

Decathlon's main size guide applies one chart to all its road bikes and the same one to gravel. On some of its other country sites, the EDR endurance bike and the Triban RC 120 show slightly different ranges, so if you're on the edge of two sizes, try one before you buy if you can.
