Frequently asked questions

Do these maintenance intervals work for any bike?

They're guidelines. In mud, rain or with heavy use, shorten them. Your bike's and your components' manuals always come first.

How often should I replace my bike chain?

When a chain checker reads 0.5% on 11- and 12-speed drivetrains (0.75% on 8- to 10-speed). That's usually somewhere between 1,900 and 5,000 miles (3,000-8,000 km), depending on care and terrain.

What tire pressure should I run?

It depends on your weight, tire width and terrain: work it out with the tire pressure calculator.
